Hello to Mrs. Hubbard's Class!

Hola from Santiago de Chile!

My name is Shepard Daniel, and I will be communicating with you over the next few months. I'm an American student studying Environmental Planning at the University of Chile. I'm excited to share my experience with you and hopefully provide a window for you into Chilean life and culture.

My students comments: We are so glad to be communicating with you about Chile. We have a few quesitons: 1)What do children our age like to eat there? 2)What are some things they do for fun? 3)Could you send some pictures of the people and places you are seeing? 4) Do you have a picture of yourself that you could share?

We really liked the pictures of you and your friends, and the pictures of the food! Empanadas look delicious! How could we make them here? Do you have a recipe?
We also loved your pictures of the camping and hiking trip you took.
1)Students are wondering if you have a 'MySpace' page or Facebook?
2)We are also wondering if folks there watch much tv, and if they do, what do they like to watch most?
3)What do many people there do for a living? What is their economy mostly based on?
4)What animals are indigenous to the area?
5)Do many people there use cell phones? Are they similar to ours?
6)Do many people drive cars? What kind?
We are getting ready for our 'Night at the Wax Museum', which is tomorrow, on Thursday morning and again in the evening. We will tell you all about it in our next Blog!
